I know that the spambots are here because we're back in google 
1. I just reported over a dozen threads and after each I had to wait and wait because a user can't post that frequently. How about getting the time limit lower for reports or for users who have a 1000 posts or something like that? To like 2 seconds?
2. How about getting a better captcha? I actually have to write a captcha during the holiday to pass a course. So I can either just write a simple "text + some lines + little back ground text" or similar or I can actually think of something more challanging (like "which animal is upside down?" (just an egzample of something non-standard) or something else that'd need more computing power (and a new algorithm) to check in real time). I won't be starting with it for the next 2 or 3 weeks but how do you feel about that? |

Yeah, I'd also like to just delete the account with all posts and ban the IP (can a mod do that?). |

Yeah....I didn't really notice that it's the same user, so I just kept reporting....  |

admin only I think 
mods can do post cleanup, though... help clean up before the admins can get to the source.

Getting that working properly would require more patches to the existing code. As it is, only minor changes, if any, are expected to the version currently being tested, which is also expected to be the last version before the forums migrate to a new major version. In short, not now, maybe not later.

The CAPTCHA in the new version should be somewhat less trivial to solve by script, so we will probably give it a chance to fail spectacularly in that regard before we do any serious work toward integrating a new one.

That would violate our current policy of only accepting public applications from people in places with a common abbreviation of "ca", matched ignoring case.

At the moment moderators do not have the required access to ban users or addresses. We, typically, only ban addresses when it is clear that only spam comes from the address in question, banning users generally involves less research.
