Well, I don't have them anymore, but when I was a child I had wrist bumps for a multiple of years. The doctors said they didn't know what it was. After a bit of googling, the only real thing I could find is a Ganglion cyst -- but these are described as soft, rubbery bumps. My bumps were as hard as a rock. I'm really curious as to what these bumps were.
Any ideas? (They are completely gone now) |

| I had also one in my left wrist, which I believe it was correlated with my arm being twisted a bit too much in a self defense training. Also as you said it was not soft but hard as bone. My doctor said it was probably caused by excess fluid in the joint. It was sour sometimes, but eventually went mostly away. |

I'd bet on ganglion cysts as well; I have them too, and one in particular has come and gone for several years (over 15 now!); sometimes it's soft, sometimes it's pretty firm. I've tried bashing it with a book as per my doctor (they don't recommend this any more, by the way), had it rupture on its own, whatever; it comes back. Not a big deal, just a little gross. Not even too noticeable unless I hold my hand at a 90 degree angle to my arm.
They're harmless. You can probably have it drained by a doctor if it bugs you too much. |

I know this is gross, but it is somewhat related. I had a cyst-type bump in my backside, where my buttocks meet, rigth at the top of the "crack". It wasn't a pilondial (sp?) cyst, but I cannot remember the term at the moment.
While I was in school, it would ooze out brownish red secretions and sometimes stain my pants! Talk about embarrassing.
The doctor cut it open and squeezed it all out, and I took something or it was cleaned out--never came back. It sure did reek during this process though. And hurt, oh my how it hurt. Right before the time that I went to the doctor (I was fed up with the pain) I could not sit down at all. _________________ | Starmen.net | |

| Yeah I have one of those too. It seems to be slowly shrinking. When I first noticed it a few months ago it was fairly visible if I titled my hand down. Like the OP's mine is pretty hard, but it's nothing to worry about. |

A colleague of mine used to complain about something similar (hard big bumps on his wrists), but I never cared to try and touch them or investigate further. He said those things kept growing though. It's the first time that I've heard of such a formation, but now I see it's a lot more common than I thought. _________________ Confutatis maledictis, flammis acribus addictis! |

Ah, but the cyst is on my right hand, and I'm left-handed. |

I have one on my right wrist and I could post pics however you'd be hard pressed to notice anything, even with pointy arrows and stuff... Also it's pretty hard to take a picture with your tongue while holding both hands out for comparison (other wise you'd never notice it)...
I tried hitting it with a book once but that never made any difference and just made my wrist hurt like hell for about a half hour (felt like I'd broken it, again). _________________ "Someday, he thought, it'll be mandatory that we all sell the McDonald's hamburger as well as buy it; we'll sell it back and forth to each other forever from our living rooms.
