Add yourself to the CC list and append your information to the bug report at:http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271449
In the meantime you can try masking the specific version of the package by:
| Code: | | echo "=app-office/openoffice-3.1.0" >> /etc/portage/package.mask |

you've got old versions of some of your perl packages. You need to update them, especially Archive-Zip and it's dependencies.
If you're running solidly ~amd64 then you should be fine. If not, you need to keyword Archive-Zip and re-install. _________________ My emerge --info
Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.

| Masking (# in make.conf) all GCC flags made it compile for me. OOo is just fragile. It compile (and work most of the time) for me. The only problem I have is the strange bug that force me to open it twice in order to see the main windows appear. |

Since I installed this system it has been running ~amd64
| Code: |
# eix Archive-Zip
[I] dev-perl/Archive-Zip
Available versions: 1.16 1.20 (~)1.23 (~)1.26
Installed versions: 1.26(20:46:07 05/29/09)
Homepage: http://search.cpan.org/dist/Archive-Zip
Description: A wrapper that lets you read Zip archive members as if they were files |
Are there later versions?

ah i haven't been in this side of the world in a while. I fixed this by emerging openoffice-bin instead of openoffice _________________ Desktop

| I am always wondering, why portage ignore updates of this minor packages or very often ignore some flag changes. Sometimes emerge -ae world is very surprising how many updates there are |

| Sorry for the delay, I forgot about that thread. I get no error, OOo 3.1 running fine here. I had problem, but it was only abusive gcc flags, disabling all solved all problem. As said in the error disclaimer, OOo is fragile, 3.1 even more than any previous version. |

Try 'emerge -auDN --with-bdeps y world'.
The --with-bdeps y upgrades packages that are only at build-time dependencies and not run-time dependencies. |
