[pulseaudio] per-user daemon or system-wide?

The machine in question is a laptop that I don't plan on using as a "hi-fi gateway". I just want to connect from it to my home server which is connected to nice audio hardware.

What are the pros and cons of both ways?

mpd is ideal for such applications.
Just install media-sound/mpd on the server and a client like media-sound/sonata on the laptop

Thanks, but I've been using mpd with ario for some time now. With pulseaudio I can supposedly play anything from my laptop without plugging it to the amplifier (supposedly because the server is now busy doing emerge -e world with a new gcc...so pulseaudio has to wait...).
