Hi,

is it possible to setup xdm so that it auto-restarts whenever somebody presses Ctrl+Alt+Backspace?

You mean the xdm service which manages gdm,kdm and slim or the actual xdm?

1. It used to do so, but now, at least with gdm, it seems to crash quite often instead of restarting.

2. Use the service, so go to #1 ;]

I'm talking about /etc/init.d/xdm or whatever daemon it's starting. And I'm using slim as login manager.

My server (which has slim) is currently headless, but if I remember correctly from a couple weeks ago when it had a monitor, slim does not appear again indeed...gdm sometimes does...so generally there is something wrong with it. Go, file a bug (https://bugs.gentoo.org).

Ok, I'll file a bug report, but is the bug related to slim or to xdm?
