Is there a network connection beween PC's, can you ping from one PC to the other? Some older network cards dont like crossover cables.
If you can post some more detail about your samba error it would be helpfull.
But if you can get samba working you will be able to see any shares you create on the Linux box from the windows box and vica versa.
or look at
http://www.samba.org for more documentation |

okey! let me clarify my question,
i have
2 computer XP and Gentoo 1.4 ---> kde
crossover cable, got both drivers working, e100(linux compiled it inside the kernel) and cnetpro200 xp
samba installed (but not yet configure)
problem,
i can't network them, i just want them to be connected, a typical connection, just for sharing files and printers, and of course network gaming (ex. quake 3)
i don't know what files to configure, what settings for, linux and windows
so anyone can give me a "samba for dummies" step by step process. pls. really need help, |
