|
|
Hello,
I updated to networkmanager-0.7 today, and it doesn't show the wlan-networks in range anymore. It shows a grey "Wireless Networks", but nothing more. If I e.g. use the hardware-switch it to turn it off it recognises that. And
iwconfig wlan0 essid <ssid>
dhclient wlan0
is also working, so it's not the card. The networks showed all properly in nm 0.66. Is there anything I did wrong and that I can change?
Thanks in advance |

Try running:
Code: | polkit-auth --grant org.freedesktop.network-manager-settings.system.modify --user USERNAME |
Where USERNAME is whatever your user is called on your system. If it still doesn't work then do this and reboot afterwards:
Code: | emerge dbus hal networkmanager wpa_supplicant |
|

Hi there,
I ran polkit-... and it didn't change anything. I of course also had all 4 dbus hal networkmanager wpa_supplicant already installed and dbus/hal/nm daemons started.
After re-emerging it, and restarting, it worked
Although this is a bit strange, isn't it?
But thank you very much, it's much more comfortable than connecting per console, even more if you use VPN and are annoyed by firefox being in offline mode because NM thinks it has no connection
Thanks again lorenb! |

is only needed to be able to add system-wide configuration.
Usually you need to restart dbus after networkmanager installation, so it can run services on-demand (like wpa_supplicant or system-settings). _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)
