|
|
This howto will NOT tell you howto change your Links into a Mozilla Firefox clone.
This howto WILL tell you howto give it just a bit more function.
Step number one:
emerge -pv links
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild R ] www-client/links-2.1_pre17-r1 +X* -directfb -fbcon* +gpm -javascript +jpeg -livecd +png +ssl -svga +tiff -unicode 0 kB
You must compile it with X support, otherwise this nifty little hack wont work.
Step number two:
Emerge any terminal that works with tabs,
In this case i'll use gnome-terminal
The rest of this howto assumes you use it to.
Emerge -pv gnome-terminal
Step number three
In gnome terminal click File
New Profile
Enter profile name.
Base it on the default one.
Then go to "Title and Commands"
Check the box marked "Run a custom command instead of my shell"
And enter "links -g"
Save and exit
Step number four
Start your gnome terminal again, if all goes well the first thing that starts,
will be the browser, now press "Ctrl + Shift + T" To open a new tab
and "Ctrl + Shift + W" To close it |
