Last year the title was "Can Hamilton Do It This Year" but seeing as he did I think a name change was in order :D

We have new kids on the block, Brawn GP (BGP) took over the Honda team when the car manufacturer pulled out and have been setting lightning fast time in pre-season...

...but can they win the championship?

Ferrari look strong (as always), McLaren look decidedly poor, Williams... well they always come third whatever happens

I'm going for Brawn because I really want them to do well (and for Button to show that he still has the talent he showed at Williams)

honda sucked before, why would it be any different this year? my vote this year is for bmw, i think kubica and heidfeld can do it if they keep their wits about them and beat ferrari. mclaren already said they have issues this year, so i can see that dogging them all year. 8)

But they spent a whole year making a new car, that's why they were so uncompetitive

Bernie Ecclestone has revealed there will be three new teams joining Formula 1 next season.

The F1 supremo said 26 cars will be on the starting grid for the 2010 campaign and that a medals-system will determine the championship.

"We'll have 26 cars on the grid next year - we've got a lot of people confirmed," said Ecclestone.

practice starts in 30 mins.

This is the first season that we've had coverege of the practice sessions. I don't think I'll bother watching them, unless they're on at a convenient time, but I'm super curious about the pace of the cars, and will make the effort this time.

sorry. The guy commentating is David Croft. I wish he'd just stop talking for a little bit, and don't read out txt messages on air! It's dumb!

I'll have to wait to see who the main commentator is during qualifying tomorrow.

Have they made the wheels wider, or do you think they just look bigger because they don't have the grooves on them anymore?

They had coultard there somewhere but yeah, it'd Croft. Anthony Davidson is a natural at commentating he infinite and intimate knowlege of these cars.

The front tyres look smaller because the front wing is bigger.

Anyway, i'm well impressed by the Brawns and the Williams'

so i'm watching the aussie Q...

what's with those god awful wings? how come the tire stripes are on the edges of the sidewalls?

Q1: brawn gp out front?? hamilton on the bubble??

Q2: brawn gp out front again?? hamilton out, citing rear-end issues... kovalainen starting right beside him?? RBR near the front?? alonso bumped out??

Q3: brawn pole?? ferrari 7+9??

this is going to be... interesting.

I'm always impressed by the resourcefulness of these people... And by Ferrari's proneness of calling foul every time they've been beaten.

Wow. This is looking like the best F1 year since 1998 and 1999 when Hakkinen, Coultard and Schumacher were fighting it out.

I think Brawn GP deserve it after everything they have been through, imagine if it had never of happened.

Also I was right about Button showing the abilities he showed at Williams, before he moved to BAR

indeed.

impressive team work by brown. a bit of luck there with barrichello but this is part of the game.

curious to see how ferrari will do in a rear-balanced circuit like sepang. kers seems to have a good advantage, if they can sort the weight distribution problem.

no, it's super hot. I wouldn't mind a shirt/cap/jacket etc. The new sponsor seems to fit nicely into the decal as well.

No, the Toyota was demoted places for overtaking while under the safety car. Hamilton came third
