Hi,
the problem is that I can not set the dysplay resolution to 1280x1024.
I check the HorizSync and the VertRefresh in the Monitor Manual and I am sure that are correct.
Any way Xorg logs report that they are out of range for 1280x1024 resolution
My Video Card is a Radeon HD 4850, and these is part of the xorg.conf:
Code:

Driver     "vga"
Section "Device"
    Identifier  "HD4850"
    Driver      "radeonhd"
    #VideoRam    262144
    # Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection

Section "Screen"
    Identifier  "Screen 1"
    Device      "HD4850"
    Monitor     "SyncMaster"
    DefaultDepth 24

  Subsection "Display"
        Depth       8
        Modes       "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        ViewPort    0 0
    EndSubsection
    Subsection "Display"
        Depth       16
        Modes       "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        ViewPort    0 0
    EndSubsection
    Subsection "Display"
        Depth       24
        Modes       "1280x1024" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
        ViewPort    0 0
    EndSubsection
EndSection

Have you any ideas?
Thank you
Heverz

Code:

Driver     "vga"
Section "Device"
    Identifier  "HD4850"
    Driver      "radeonhd"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
    Identifier  "Screen 1"
    Device      "HD4850"
    Monitor     "SyncMaster"
    DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier     "SyncMaster"
    Option         "DPMS"
EndSection

Thanks d2_racing for the reply,
Unfortunatly the resolution is still the same 1024x768.
In the last reboots I found that gdm takes something like 60s to start up, even if I came back to the old xorg.conf 8O

Could it be something wrong in the kernel configuration?

Thank you
Heverz
