Installing Gentoo

Help me please 1- I just installed Gentoo and when I boot it its asking me a login!!! I set my passwd but I did not remark anything for a login?? 2- how can I edit the menu.lst file with grub commands?????

The username that you set the password for is "root". Be sure to add another user, though, as running everything as root is a Unix no-no.

# mount /boot
# nano -w /boot/grub/menu.lst
