Hello, I would like to buy a hardware RAID5 controller with min. 4xSATAII and PCI-E. Do you have any recommendations? Of course controller must be well supported by Linux kernel.
What do you think about this:
Adaptec 3405 PCI-E

Adaptec is always solid. I have used 3Ware in the past, and it seemed great. Look at the 3Ware 9650SE-4LPML. Can't tell you from experience with these exact cards tho. HTH
