Everytime when I su to root and try to use some graphic program, it always give me an error "Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server. Xlib: No protocol specified". Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Along with kanuslupus' answer, another way to do this without invoking xhost is to copy the .Xauthority file from the home directory of the user that started X to the home directory of the user as whom you are trying to execute things - /root in this case.
