I don't know why but the "sftp IO Slaves" transparency stop working.

I don't know why but konqueror now only sync the file when I close Kate. It used to do it right when I save it.

At first, I was using KDE3.3, but I decide to try to emerge newer version of KDE to make it work but it didn't solve anything.

Can somebody show me how to arrange it?

Answer : When you make your file association put %u after your program name : ->open with ->kate %u

"sftp://"-urls in kde, stopped working for me too...

I'm positive they worked in kde-3.2,
pretty sure kde-3.3 popped up "out of memory" when trying an "sftp://"-url,
and positive that kde-3.4 just endlesly displays "Opening sftp connection..." without ever opening it.

But "fish://" urls DO WORK (in kde-3.2, kde-3.3 and kde-3.4).

I'm curious if this is due to our specific setups, or if it's a common problem. So if you have kde, please try entering "sftp://some.ssh.enabled.server" in a konqueror addressbar and report here if it works or doesn't (including your kde version.)

Hi guys,

Mine doesn't work either, running KDE 3.4 here on AMD64. I can use fish though.

or perhaps more likely: a new openssh version fixed it.

here's a bug report on this issue: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19425
