I have installed Xfce 4.4.2, firefox 2 and now 3, and Thunderbird for mail. I have found that thunderbird fails to open the url in the mails when I click them. After looking at preferences several times, use flags, trying double click and right click (which doesnt shows an Open action) I havent found a way to fix it.
Should I try to reemerge it or there is another way? _________________ Game programming news for newbies | The Ark, making an RPG the right way! |

In the "Edit" - "Preferences" - "Advanced" "General" tab there is a button for "Config Editor."
Open that and search for "network.protocol-handler.app.http" If it's not there, add it with a right-click, Type "string" and value will be the path to Firefox (or whatever browser you want to use). For Firefox, the value in Gentoo will be "/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/firefox-bin".
Do that again for "network.protocol-handler.app.https", restart Thunderbird (maybe) and you should be good to go!

Please search before posting. Search results for "thunderbird open links firefox" include this, which in turn references this, which is why this was ...
