I am trying to remove KDE 4.1 without removing my kde 3.5 install so that I can re-emerge it with the +kdeprefix flag (because of this post) but for some reason I cannot seem to do so. I've already tried removing kde-4.1 items from the /etc/portage/package.keywords file but they don't want to go away.

You can do it with these commands after you update your system

Can we use the same formula to wipe kde 3.5 out ?
Im on 4.1 and will never use 3.5 again ..

edit: that would be a yes, i did have one or two issues with --deplcean because i forgot i somehow got the arts use flag in my make conf
