I've run into an interesting article when searching for instructions to install Gentoo on EEE PC 1000: Gentoo Install and Migrate
http://www.gentoo-wiki.info/TIP_Gentoo_Install_and_Migrate
but the article is a bit short on details; has anybody tired this approach? Is it safe?
I have Intel 4-core system so the compilation would "fly" but I'm not sure if it is safe. I'm running amd64 so in order to do it I think I would need to boot with Gentoo 32bit Live-CD.
Is there an official how-to? |

Hi,
I do this quite a lot... No trouble at all!
Just copy the chroot _somehow_ over and install grub, adjust fstab and so on!
If you have 64bit with multilibs installed, you just need to
Code: | linux32 chroot /where/ever/you/like /bin/bash |
