Dear all,
I just upgrade from kernel 2.6.25 into 2.6.27 (gentoo-sources), after using my new kernel i show ACPI complains that /proc/acpi/event doesn't exists.
A short look at the kernel configuration showed that the option:
Deprecated /proc/acpi/event support (deprecated)
with out enabling this option the acpi Daemon solution will not work any more.
I would like to know what is the "new" solution for controling the processor speed? and how to configure it at kernel 2.6.27.
Thanks |

So use make menuconfig or make xconfig and turn the option on. It's still there. I'm using it right now. Click on my sig, and use one of my seed kernels as a reference. That option is already turned on by default in my seeds.
Blessed be!

The problem is that acpid upstream is unresponsive.
As stated in kernel docs, there are different ways of detecting acpi events,
but acpid doesn't implement them. |

I've been wondering myself how this is going to get resolved. _________________ Jingle Jangle Jewellery |
