When I try to emerge xf86-video-i810 I get the following error:
| Code: |
ERROR: x11-drivers/xf86-video-i810-2.1.1 failed
Call stack:
ebuild.sh , line 49: Called src_compile
environment, line 2998: Called x-modular_src_compile
environment, line 3786: Called x-modular_src_make
environment, line 3819: Called die
The specific snippet of code:
emake || die "emake failed"
The die message:
emake failed
|
Of course, now I can't startx.

Need additional information. Please post ~ 20 lines earlier, where you first see an ERROR. Also post the output of emerge --info. _________________ Mark

Thanks mjf55 for replying.
I solved it. But, for the record:
I removed the driver, then when I tried to install it again, I got the error explained in first post. So I did a
| Code: | | emerge --update --deep --newuse world |
And then, somehow, the intel driver was installed again (without explicitly emerging it). And everything got fixed. I even have the direct rendering working (reason why I tried to reinstall the intel driver) |
