I recently upgraded my kernel to 2.6.25-gentoo-r7 and rebooted. Now I'm getting errors about accessing /etc/mtab.
Specifically, I get "can't open /etc/mtab for writing: Stale NFS file handle"
When I look at the directory listing for mtab, I get:
-????????? ? ? ? ? ? mtab
I can't delete it, update it, clear it, do a "cat /proc/mounts > /etc/mtab", etc. They all give me the NFS error. I've rebooted several times and can't get it working. Help! |

Hi,
Did you try to boot on the livecd and re-generate the mtab like explained in the handbook? _________________ Powered by Gentoo Linux since 2003 |

Seems the filesystem is corrupted. Time for fsck ;-) |
