Hi everyone,

I use krfb regularly, I know there are other solutions out there, but this has worked for me well enough for a couple of years, but not anymore.

A few weeks ago I noticed that I could connect and stay connected with windows clients, that was great. For a long time the inability to use krfb with anything but linux clients was a known, will not fix bug.

Two days ago, I noticed that I stopped connecting, getting instead "No server running at the given address and port", which is not true, it's running, or at least it's enabled. Previously, I had been able to restart it and have it work if I logon to the remote machine and give:

Quote:
jesnow@Merckx ~ $ dcop --user jesnow kded kinetd setEnabled krfb false
jesnow@Merckx ~ $ dcop --user jesnow kded kinetd setEnabled krfb true

and if there was no error message, everything was fine. Now I just get the same "no server" error from the client, no matter which machine or OS I try.

I have no idea where to begin tracking down this problem, can someone please help me?

Cheers,

Jon.

If you run krfb on remote host (Create Personal Invitation), and krdc on local host does it still fail to connect?
Firewall maybe?

Yes, that's the problem, no connection. No firewall, I can connect all sorts of other ways, just not krfb.
