Hi,
I followed these directions to get sound on my computer. When I upgraded to the most recent kernel, I didn't have sound. Upon examination of the kernel configuration, I found that those customizations had been reset to the default settings. Upon reconfiguring the kernel with those customizations, sound support was restored. Does anyone know why this happens and/or how I can avoid it?
Thanks!

| Yeah, that's the guide I followed. I think the problem was that I didn't do step 6, reinstalling external modules - I didn't have module-rebuild installed. My NTFS partition didn't mount either as a result of not doing this. |
