Hey,
The subject explains my problem: I can't select the ATI opengl interface.
I just installed the newest official ATI-Catalyst-driver and it is running.
fglrxinfo says:
| Code: | display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON X800 PRO
OpenGL version string: 2.1.7659 Release |
Eselect-opengl is emerged.
But "eselect opengl show" gives the following:
Can someone give advice what's wrong here?

If you downloaded it from ati's site and installed it then it wont show in eselect. It must be emerged to show up in eselect.

Yes, I downloaded it from ATI's site.
I thought the missing fglrx-option of eselect maybe would be the reason for another problem I currently have with this driver.
There are a few threads about this, but none of them helped me.
Whenever I try to emerge e.g. VLC and other packages that have dependencies on a file named "/usr/lib64/libGL.so"
the merge exists with the error "No such file or directory".
Added: After I emerged the ati-drivers package I was able to eselect ati as OpenGL-Interface.
The problem with the missing libGL.so-file has been solved as well. Before I emerged ati-drivers the symlink was set to a non-existing file
which probably has been renamed during my earlier catalyst installations. Later I realized that this wasn't necessary because switching the
OpenGL-Interface automatically refreshs this symlink to the correct file. In my case it is set this way now:
