http://usbip.sourceforge.net/
(Had a really hard time deciding which forum to post to!)
I did a search for usbip and there were no results, so I just wanted to bring some attention to this project. I am not associated with the project at all or anything, I just stumbled across it tonight. I searched for usbip in portage to see if there was anything for it, and there wasn't either.
I think the concept is great. It would be awesome to have various USB devices plugged into my Linux server, and using them from Windows. They show an example of using a webcam on another PC as though it were local.
I think the even-further potential future applications for device-sharing (ala KVM style) could be fun/handy as well. _________________ :: soroh -*~ |

This bug shows its in the Sunrise overlay.
Use layman to manage your overlays, get Sunrise and use it as if it were a part of the Portage tree. _________________ Regards,

Wasn't about it not being in portage, just to create awareness/discussion. _________________ :: soroh -*~ |
