Hi guys,
I have 8 x 500gb drives in raid 5 on an 3 ware 9500 card so I'd expect 3500gb less the usual bit for 1000/1024 scaling etc. So in fdisk it shows:
Code: | Disk /dev/sda: 3499.9 GB, 3499925438464 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 425508 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xb851c520
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 267349 2147480811 83 Linux
|
yet I only seem to have 2tb free with df, not sure if this is the max it will show or not but:
Code: |
/dev/mapper/main 2.0T 199M 2.0T 1% /fileshare/RAID |
Now I'm obviously not overly keen on losing 1+tb of storage so what options are open to me? Am I best to split the drive in the array management into 2tb (or less) portions or have I just messed up somewhere? |
