| Will firefox-3.0 final ebuild be released in the same day in portage? And does anyone know if non binary also will be treated in world record counter ? |

I would be extremely surprised if the answer to both questions were not "yes." _________________ --Aaron

| I would suggest downloading it from mozilla's site. You certainly don't have to install the downloaded file... Not sure if you have to go to the update page afterwards or if it just counts the download... Anyway, that's what I'm going to do. |

Here it is Tue Jun 17 12:41:19 UTC 2008 and even http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ is still showing 2.0.0.14.
Guess this just goes to show you that you should always post HH:MM UTC along with a release date. |

Maybe we shoul create a overlay for this day? And link the Download URL to the download sites of firefox.
So Gentoo would support this day too.
I would offer the Overlay for this ebuild, if someone is able to make a ebuilds for FF3 for that day. _________________ Madness comes and leaves, but i stay!

Prepare for extreme surprise. There is no ebuild for anything but RC3 in portage as of right now. And it's hard-masked, too. |

Yes but if you get in from portage will it count. Install from portage but download it also from the mozilla project so the download counts. |

Right now, gentoo-portage.com shows it as not being masked at all... _________________ www.impressusart.com |

Uh, yes it does. It lists the keywords as "-* ~amd64 ~x86". _________________ "Ambition is a poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy." -Edgar Bergen |

Oh, hey - the rc3 candidate actually said "hard masked" on it, so that's what I looked for quickly...
Sorry. _________________ www.impressusart.com |

| The non-binary package (mozilla-firefox) should also be updated to 3.0. |

The 3.0 source ebuild is in portage (~), but either it hasn't made it to the mirrors yet, or emerge doesn't download it becaues, as has been noted, the xulrunner dependency isn't yet available in portage (I'm leaning towards the former...). _________________ "Ambition is a poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy." -Edgar Bergen |

| It's just a hunch, but doesn't this mean that there's a 3.12 (non-rc) of nss. |

It's up on gentoo.osuosl.org.
[Edit: which, has now become the first mirror that I'm seeing to get the actual Firefox sources too!] _________________ "Ambition is a poor excuse for not having sense enough to be lazy." -Edgar Bergen |
