Hello,
my clock in the panel never shows the correct time.
I can set it using Kcontrol just fine, but after every reboot its off again, and by appearantly totally random margins.
My bios battery should by fine, the PC is just about 14 months old...

your system time is ok or is it the same as in the kde panel?
do you dual boot with windoze? i think it is known that there are problems with the time settings if you dual boot...
there is an option to save the current time when you shutdown your computer. set
| Code: | | clock_systohc="YES" |
in /etc/conf.d/hwclock.
and you can also use net-misc/ntp to sync your clock over the internet at bootup.
regards,

Hmm.. strange stuff.. the last two times I booted the time was right..
Yes, System time is the same as the clock in the panel.
No, I do not boot windows, haven't done so in about 4 years
Well, I suspect the problem is solved, even though I have pretty much no clue how.. |

Might be /etc/adjtime -- see the "The Adjust Function" section in man hwclock. _________________ KDE 4.2 - Get It While It's Hot! |
