Hello people.

I've updated my U5 to snapshot 20080416 with no problems at all.
Recompiled all system twice (emerge -eD system) and all world (emerge -eD world). Everything ok.

After the upgrade, kernel sources 2.6.24-gentoo-r4 are available (previous kernel is 2.6.23-gentoo-r3).
Compiled the new kernel without problems, and installed it as usual.
After booting with the new kernel, Xorg crashes.
I used the same configuration as the previous kernel, made some new configs, tried a lot of options in the new configs, etc., but the problem remains.

When booting with previous kernel, Xorg runs perfect.
Booting with new kernel is the problem for Xorg.

When i try to run X manually, this are the messages:
Code:

Any ideas?
Tell me if you need my system's info and/or kernel .config

Thanks

To emerge, or not to emerge: that is the question.

Procedure:

1) Changed symlink "/usr/src/linux" from previus kernel (2.6.23-gentoo-r3) to new kernel (2.6.24-gentoo-r4).

2) Executed: "make menuconfig" in "/usr/src/linux" and selected same options as previous kernel config (had appointments of all options).

3) Compiled new kernel: "make && make image modules_install".

4) Copied new kernel: "cp arch/sparc64/boot/image /boot/kernel-2.6.24-gentoo-r4".

5) Changed "/etc/silo.conf" for new kernel booting.

6) Executed "/sbin/silo".

7) Rebooted.

The system boots ok with new kernel. Everything (except "Xorg") works ok.
Thanks.

Someone else already reported this as bug 214156. Can you try if one of the attached patches fixes it for you?
