After a very long time between releases, I have finally been able to complete things for a new release.
I have finalized things to a string freeze and have nearly all bugs squashed. So I am now asking for help in updating the translation files.
Please see this forum thread for those details and/or comments/support
If you are capable, willing and can spare some time:

| New tranlsations wrote: | | Italian <== nearly complete by "unz". emerge options explanations still translate (a lot of text). No translated manpages to copy from |
Volunteers, please post here your intentions to minimize duplication of efforts and/or if someone wants to help someone else.
I will be releasing _rc3 this weekend with the latest bugfixes and updates. But the best way is to download a copy of the svn and submit svn diff's for updates to existing translations or submit new translations to our sourceforge patches tracker.
I have tried to update the translations as best I could for some format changes to some strings, but I could see some strings were mixed up by the updates (they just look wrong, even though I don't know the language)
For tools to test your translations. There is a script in the "~/porthole/trunk/scripts/" directory named "pocompile.sh" that will compile the translation files and install them inside the svn checkout for you to check your work.
Porthole-svn does not need to be installed to run on your system. From a terminal, just cd into the scripts directory and run the porthole script there. | Code: | | # ./porthole -l -d ALL |
That will run the svn of checkout porthole instead of the installed version.
the -l flag means run the local svn version.
the -d flag means print out "ALL" debug print statements. In case you find a bug. There is usually good info to help trace the bug.
For new translations. Please create translation entries for the "~/porthole/trunk/porthole.desktop" file as well.
Thank you,
P.S. Don't forget to submit the name(s) you would like added to the AUTHORS file for your work. _________________ Brian

Taking German. I've already updated most of it and hope I have it completed somewhere at the end of the week. |

I can take care of Polish and French.
Please confirm if anybody else is working on this translation. _________________ MSI Master2-FAR ||

No one else yet. Thank you.
Please check all the existing translations. I think poedit messed up some when I was updating them with the new messages.pot. The little I could read in some of the languages, some just looked wrong.
Again, Thank you. _________________ Brian

rc4 is Hopefully the final release candidate before the final. Any translation updates you are able to do are welcomed.
Thank you... _________________ Brian

OK, update. I hope to release porthole-0.6.0 final next weekend June 22.
I will include any translation updates submitted by that that time.
If you have been considering updating a language, that is the target date for inclusion in this release.
Anything submitted after that will be included in later versions.
