|
|
Hi,
i have been trying to create a taskbar on the top of my desktop and make it like mac OS/X.
When i hover the mouse over the icons they are getting bigger.
I installed ksmoothdock. It does exactly what i need but apart from the big memory usage i have another problem:
each time i log in to my KDE ksmoothdock is run but is not visible. I have to manually kill it and re-run it.
Of course this is very annoying.
Any ideas of what the problem is?
OR any other suggestions about how to add a taskbar with that functionality?
(i have tried a superkaramba theme but is not good at all. I would like something like ksmoothdock.)
Thanks! |

Why would you want to torture yourself with a Mac OS X-like dock when you can use real taskbars and panels already provided by the current DEs? |

Currently i am using 3 taskbars provided by the KDE. One at the bottom, one at the top and one at the left of the desktop.
The one at the top that i have it as a "quick launch" taskbar i would like to make it in mac os/x style. There is no real reason... Just for being a bit more fancy and stylish than the classic taskbar.

it should be included in the desktop-effects overlay |
I have added the overlay, is there a tutorial of howto to see what the overlay provides? _________________ All men have fears, but the brave put down their fears and march forward. Sometimes to death, but always to victory! |

avant-window-navigator is included in main portage tree. I use it succesfully. The only catch is, it requires compositing wm. |

I have installed avant, but I am curious to know what other atoms are in the desktop-effects overlay. Is there some place I can find out about that? Hey I have a good Idea! Why don't I try searching the forums! %-) _________________ All men have fears, but the brave put down their fears and march forward. Sometimes to death, but always to victory! |

Code: | eix --in-overlay sunrise | If you don't yet have eix installed it's about time. |
