I've looked and I know it's something small I'm missing but I can't seem to find it in the docs or forums so I'm asking for a little help.
I have a gnome 2.20 + ati os drivers + aiglx and I'm trying to get compiz-fusion working. I tried compiz from portage and it didn't seem to work so I'm trying the desktop-effects version and it's now working mostly. When I login I have the typical issue where the shadows show up as a white boarder but everything else seems to work ok. If I start fusion-icon the shadows come back and everything is hunky dory. That said I assume compiz is starting with gtk-window-decorator not emerald and when I start fusion-icon it replaces it with emerald. I checked in the compiz manager and emerald --replace is there but it still doesn't work when logging in. Somewhere while looking I thought I read where that is only used if another window manager is not already loaded.
Is there somewhere else I can look to see where it's loading gtk-window-decorator? |

you can add your fusion-icon to System->Preferences->Sessions or to .gnomerc
if should automatically replace your gtk-window-decorator
my fusion-icon automatically executes the following
Code: |
compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp --loose-binding
emerald --replace
