|

There seems to be no shortage of threads about problems with intel hda, and I really hate to start a new one... However after crawling the forums I cannot seem to find a solution, so here goes.
Long story short, my sound doesn't work, at all...
Here is information which is probably relevant:
Code: | #lspci | grep Audio

ok, fine... so from my kernel config...

Are you sure your sound chipset uses an Analog Device codec ?
Try to compile more codecs in snd-hda-intel module (CONFIG_SND_HDA_CODEC_* options in kernel configuration) _________________ Gentoo ~AMD64

Ok, I'm stupid... Actually I didn't even know that analog device was enabled. For some reason I thought that just having snd-hda-intel enabled would be suffecient as the information lspci returned just said intel and didn't specify any other that would be covered under the avaliable drivers. After enabling all of the possible drivers under it it works, and apparently the chips secret identity is realtek.
Thanks though. Its a simple solution but I think I would have otherwise gone on indefinitely making this problem more complicated than it needed to be. |
