|
|
Hey Guys,
i'm experiencing slow resize and slow tab switching when i run compiz-fusion. if i kill compiz und run kwin, tab switching in firefox/konqueror goes instant and resizing is also pretty fast.
the resizing problem isn't actually that annoying since i just changed the default resize mode in compiz, but slow tab switching is.
i use kde and have a nvidia card built in. Here are the xorg-server and compiz i use:
| Code: | [ebuild R ] x11-base/xorg-server-1.3.0.0-r5 USE="dri nptl xorg (-3dfx) -debug -dmx -ipv6 -kdrive -minimal -sdl -xprint" INPUT_DEVICES="evdev keyboard mouse -acecad -aiptek -calcomp -citron -digitaledge -dmc -dynapro -elo2300 -elographics -fpit -hyperpen -jamstudio -joystick -magellan -microtouch -mutouch -palmax -penmount -spaceorb -summa -synaptics -tek4957 -ur98 -vmmouse -void -wacom" VIDEO_CARDS="apm ark chips cirrus cyrix dummy fbdev glint i128 i810 mach64 mga neomagic nv r128 radeon rendition s3 s3virge savage siliconmotion sis sisusb tdfx tga trident tseng v4l vesa vga via vmware voodoo -epson -fglrx (-i740) (-impact) (-imstt) (-newport) (-nsc) -nvidia (-sunbw2) (-suncg14) (-suncg3) (-suncg6) (-sunffb) (-sunleo) (-suntcx)" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] x11-wm/compiz-fusion-0.6.0 USE="kde -gnome" 0 kB |
i already searched through the forum and did find this thread http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-605972-highlight-slow+resize+compiz.html was said that removing the patch "use-composite-for-unequal-depths.patch" would help, i edited ebuild removed patch and remerged but it didn't help, too.
i also tried
| Code: | | Option "AccelMethod" "XAA" |
which helped some people in the other thread.
another thing i tried is
| Code: |
nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2
|
which made resize faster, but didn't solve the tab switching problem and made some effects lagy. _________________ "I essentially started using Gentoo because my ....ing KDE clock would never show the right time in Red Hat."
