|
|
Hi,
I have just finished a fresh install of Gentoo (2.6.24 kernel). The kernel built-in suspend has been working properly until yesterday when it just suddenly stopped. If I try to suspend, the screen goes dark and I only get the box that asks for my password so that I could log back in (similar to as if I ran a screensaver). I have no idea why it suddenly stopped working - I have been doing only some minor kernel config modifications (alsa-related) and some application installations. Is there a way to debug the suspend process? Also is it more likely that suspend has been broken by a wrong kernel option or some installed app?
Cheers,

Do you use hibernate-script from Portage or 'echo sleep > /sys/power/state'?
There are some modules which need to be unloaded before going into sleep mode. Do you have modular kernel? |

I found the problem - I had to downgrade unstable hal (hal-0.5.10) to a stable version (hal-0.5.9.1-r3) and suspend works flawlessly.
Cheers,
