Thanks a lot :)

PD: Just added it

EDIT: I can see qt-gui qt-core qt-test etc under qting-edge/x11-libs but can't see "qt" ebuilds. Is that right? if i want to update qt related packages how should i proced to get also qt-4.5.0 or qt-4.4.9999? Thanks again :)

You should move from monolithic to split ebuilds . So in case you have qt-4.4.2 installed , I would suggest to unemerge it and install any split package you actually want

Those are

x11-libs/qt-assistant
x11-libs/qt-core
x11-libs/qt-dbus
...
...
etc

In order to be able to move to 4.9999 or 4.5.0_rc1 or whatever, you need to drop monolithic installation :)

We dont support it anymore

FYI: The qting-edge overlay is maintained by the Gentoo Qt team. We test new Qt4(-based) packages and releases here before they go into portage. It also has "live" ebuilds, which for obvious reasons will not be in portage, for those who want the cutting edge.

If you find there are any features or packages missing in the overlay, please let us know, and we will certainly consider adding it. More information and discussion in this thread: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-730187.html

There are no stable Qt 4.5 ebuilds. The most recent are the 4.5.0_rc1 ebuilds in testing branch (~arch). There's a set in the qting-edge overlay if you want that. The "right" way would be to make sure all qt-* split ebuilds are keyworded and let packages that need Qt pull them in as dependencies.
