just finished watching the first race of the year... some crazy stuff indeed... quite surprised how many people broke down on the track. 8O

glad to see that alonso didn't get a good finish though... it would have been better if kovalainen had stayed in front of him, but at least alonso didn't get podium.

Since Renault is not really a threat, BMW's drivers are unlucky and Ferrari's are lost without traction control, well, yes, why not...

He managed to lose it last year. I can't see why he can't lose it again.

Looks like he is already doing his best to lose, 5 places penalty in Sepang for obstructing Heidfeld ....
It wouldn't be bad if he wins this year ....

why not? he seems to be a nice guy. And after the years of asshole Schuhmacher, f*ing asshole Alonso and Ferrari, it would be nice to have someone nice to win for once.

(btw, this 'spying' episode - why was McL-M the only team punished? Ferrari got information too....)

But I really hope for Heidfeld.

and are redbull's front suspensions made out of inferior parts, or is it a design flaw?

and how come alonso is doing so badly this year?

It looks like the ECU is a joint venture McLaren-Microsoft, MES is McLaren Electronic Systems...
I bet there is a
Code:
IF (car=='Ferrari') THEN slowdown(); ENDIF
somewhere ....

EDIT: ECU characteristics
os: WinCE RTOS
1000 MIPS CPU
1GB memory
inputs from 125 sensors
pilots 8 injectors and 12 valves
interfaced through a CAN bus with other auto components
connects to PCs with a Ethernet connection
has a WiFi interface to communicate during the race

Bummer. That should've read "leader_of_championship", and not "pole".

From what I've read, it was the Ferrari head mechanic (Nigel Stepney) giving information to the Maclaren test driver, whats-his-face. I didn't think the emails were that incriminating either, but the FIA did an investigation and found evidence that the information had been acted upon. I admit they're a bit of a scapegoat, but it was necessary for the FIA to come down hard on this sort of thing.

I still can't remember the McLaren test drivers name. I can see his face in my head, and I refuse to google it.

So why the hate for Schumi? Is this something shared between a lot of Germans? Is it because he moved to Monte Carlo to escape german tax laws?

and information went from McL to Ferrari - but no investigation there.

I don't like 'Schumi' (I hate that nickname') for several reasons - and living in Monaco is only one. He is a fraudster. He cheated, he rammed others, he tried every dirty trick. And his teams weren't better.

He lives in Switzerland since 1996 ....
And the Germans are split in their feelings toward Schumi since there is also a lot of Ferrari fans there. For many is unacceptable that he does not race for the Mercedes/McLaren team ...

no, that never was a point (at least of 99%) The team does not matter. A lot of people who don't like him do it for a simple reason:

he is not a fair sports man.

And most of his (and Ferrari) fans are what we call 'Erfolgsfans'. They are fans of him, or a certain team, because it is successfull. If Ferrari does not win the championship for two seasons, they would be gone.

besides, Monaco, Switerland, does not matter - he made a lot of money 'here' but does not pay taxes.

Ferrari didn't won anything from 1979 to 2000 but many fans resisted....

I don't like the combination of Finnish and Italian hymn, it was better the German-Italian, there were also CD around .... :-)

PS. do you see Hamiltons lug nuts somewhere around you? They are still looking for them ....

I am talking about the german 'fans' who came onboard of the Ferrari wreck when Schumacher went there...

oh shit. I have a certain feeling. The curry chicken I had for breakfast was particularly stringy and crunchy today.

1. I don't think Shumacher was overly unfair. It wasn't above Senna to drive into Prost to take the champianship either. Dangerous and irresponsible, yes. I wouldn't call him a bad sport.
2. You can't judge Schumacher by his fans, although the Renault fans used to get on my nerves for exactly that reason.
3. Yeah, it sucks he lives in Switzerland, but I can't think of many F1 drivers that don't live in tax havens for just that reason.

1)how many times did Senna ram Prost?
And how many times Schuhmacher was caught with a manipulated car, hit someone, parked at a dangerous place ....

2)I don't judge him by his fans. But I also don't want to be one of them.

3) I despise all rich people who 'flee' their country and don't pay taxes.
