I have a SmartCard reader that I need for my e-banking.
I'm using WinXP under KVM-60 with module from gentoo-sources 2.6.23-r9
I can't use wine, not because my reader doesn't work in Linux (miracoulously it does ) but because stupid e-bank app heavily depends on windows cryptoAPI or something like that.
Now everything works OK (application on WinXP under QEMU) untill I add SmartCard reader to KVM using usb_add...
Then everything under KVM gets unuseable, slow unill I remove the USB SmartCard. There is no high CPU use.
Device gets recognised under XP. But everything is so sloooooow.
I did some research and i think that this is because of lack of isochronous support for emulated USB hosts in QEMU. Am I correct?
Any ideas how to get this fixed?
Thanks in advance

As you will probably know from looking around, QEMU and therefore KVM don't play nicely with USB at the moment. You can either get involved in development or wait for the existing developers to move this on. _________________ John Lewis IT Consultancy and Engineering
