Visit the url:

[url]about:config[/url]

To set the things you can find in prefs.js and other areas. While you can just as well go into the file and change it yourself, this means you don't risk crashing the browser. Also, I found Plenty of things I'd been curious about for a long time... like:

accessibility.typeaheadfind = false - Turn on and off find by typing
applications.rlogin = Eterm ... - This is set to xterm. For me, I like using Eterm.
browser.blink_allowed = false - Thwart those immature Tripod sites
browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing = false - I hate this feature. I really do.
browser.fixup.alternate.enabled = false - This lets you type "google" and turns it into "www.google.com". I hate this for one reason. If I type in "localhost", I get www.localhost.com, some very annoying directory site.
browser.formfill.enable = false - I can remember my name all by myself, thanks.
browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll = true - Make it easier to clear out the URL bar.
dom.disable_window_* = true - Make sure javascript can't turn off pieces of the browser's interface
general.smoothScroll = false - Speeds up scrolling

Happy config'ing !!

Code:
about:plugins

will tell you which plugins are installed and what extentions (sorry, MIME-types) are associated with them. Very useful to see if that flash or java install worked :)

Love the config thing though, never tried it since i would just edit the files by hand. Great tip.
