i have various flash drive mp3 players etc and want them to automount in kde someone told me to use ivman but his kde version is considerably older then mine so is it still necessary?
i've set ivman up using the guide below with a script to start up as user (/etc/init.d/ivman-user) presuming it is still needed seems to work ok..but it mounts the folders as root cant find out why it's not mounting them for the user specified in the script?

What filesystem is the MP3 player using? If it is *FAT*, then it should simply require the built-in kernel support for vfat, and HAL installed. _________________ “Truth, like infinity, is to be forever approached but never reached.” --Jean Ayres (1972)

KDE and Gnome will automatically detect the USB devices, and you can choose an option for automounting from the settings. So you don't need to run ivman. _________________ Gnome:
