qmail+vpopmail homedir owned by wrong user

Hello gurus and fellow users. I'm following this guide (http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/qmail-howto.xml) on how to setup a virtual mail hosting system. I followed the guide religiously, but I seem to be unlucky.

I made a reinstall for like a thousand times already. The problem arises after completing the entire section 3 - the vpopmail installation part. Here's what I do:

After completing section 3, I attempted to do a "qmail-inject root@mydomain.org" to verify that mails get to the virtual mailbox and not to the local users maildir. After issuing the command, I noticed my logs get filled with:
