From my laptop i have a connection to my wireless router. My server has a wired connection to my router. It is faster for me to download files from the internet than to scp them from the server.
From the internet i get about 1.6MB and from the LAN i get about 100k.
I have a dlink 635 router which is 802.11n.
My laptop is a macbookpro which supports 802.11n.
any ideas please? |

Have you checked for collisions on your server? Please post the output of "ethtool ethX" on your server. _________________ -- http://www.linuxaddicted.de/ | Please help to answer open questions |

Sorry, but I have to ask are you using scp for both downloads?
scp uses encryption which is cpu limited rather than network limited. |
