ok ok so i love fbsd but .... freshports.org is a cool site to search for apps check how they are updated ect.... maybe someone in the community would do the same for gentoos portage it could be freshportage or slashportage hehe dunno just more fbsd input.

I think almost everything for portage there is is in the gentoo repository. Not like debian where stuff takes it 10 years to get into repository. U might want to look here.
