Hallo!

Suddenly my /var partition has no space left!

After a little research, among other things, I have found the following sizes in my mysqld-bin files:

Code:
du -csh /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin*
1,1G    /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000001
1,1G    /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000002
1,1G    /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000003
599M    /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000004
0       /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000005
0       /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000006
0       /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000007
0       /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000008
1,0K    /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.000009
1,0K    /var/lib/mysql/mysqld-bin.index
3,6G    total

Why is that?

I only use mysql for amarok and therefore I have no experience with it. I would appreciate your hints!

*** EDIT ***

I checked my logs and they were fluded with messages stating that certain tables were corrupted.

I tried to check and correct them with
Code:
myisamchk *.MYI
myisamchk -r

However the mysqld-bin files are still there in occupying 3G!

*************

Kind regards,
orange_juice

You can have these files rotated etc... take a look at [1].

Hi, I had this same problem except it was to the tune of 40G! Is there a way to set mysqld to limit the size of these logs? Or do you just have to monitor them and do a RESET MASTER every once in awhile? I didn't see anything in my.cnf that jumped out at me...
