I am installing on an Ultra 2. I can ping just fine, both local and on the Internet. But, no other network apps seem to work, such as lynx, wget, rsync, etc. They just time out eventually. I have 2 NIC cards, but only one is active, and route says eth0 is the default device, which is correct. I have a good DHCP IP address. Any thoughts
Thanks for the help

I have noticed that a common problem is not copying over resolv.conf. I did that, and lynx, etc resolves just fine. I have this problem both before and after I chroot.

I figured it out. My NVRAM is dead, and one of the symptoms is that the MAC address goes to all F's, which I finally noticed on boot. I just ordered one at http://www.memoryxsun.com for 40 bucks.
