I'm installing on a brand new dual Athlon-MP 2000+ with Gentoo 1.2a from Stage 1.
After getting the system going, and Gnome 2 working, I can't get xmms to install because libvorbis fails to compile.
Even with 'emerge libvorbis', I get the same error:
Code: | gcc -DPACKAGE=\"libvorbis\" -DVERSION=\"1.0rc3\" -DHAVE_DLFCN_H=1 -DHAVE_ALLOCA_H=1 -DHAVE_ALLOCA=1 -DHAVE_SQRTF=1 -DHAVE_LOGF=1 -DHAVE_EXPF=1 -DHAVE_ACOSF=1 -DHAVE_ATANF=1 -DHAVE_FREXPF=1 -DHAVE_RINTF=1 -I. -I. -I../include -I/usr/include -O20 -ffast-math -mno-ieee-fp -D_REENTRANT -fsigned-char -DUSE_MEMORY_H -c envelope.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/envelope.lo
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11
make[2]: *** [envelope.lo] Error 1 |
Anybody having the same problem?

I am having the same problem, and I think I know why.
When I first compiled libvorbis, I was using one release ago of the gcc compiler (I think 2.95.3 r6) and just recently they released r7. Unfortunately I have been unable to get it to compile since r7 came out. I noticed that when I went to do an emerge -e world since I had discovered how to use USE flags (lol) |

I think you're right. I had no problems on my other computer with the older version of gcc.
### UPDATE ###
I just tried again this morning after another rsync, and the problem for me is resolved.
Good job guys!
