|
|
Hi,
I have been trying to run Ubuntu as a guest on a Gentoo host using VMware-server. Unfortunately, I am not able to connect to the Internet using the guest OS. I've tried bridged network, NAT and host-only and only the last one works (unfortunately that's not enough for me). I thought that maybe I screwed up Ubuntu installation so I tried running Windows XP as a guest and I encountered exactly the same problem. Basically, guest OSs don't receive any info about their IP, DNS etc. Looks like its definitely something wrong with my Gentoo installation since all VMware services seem to start properly. Anyone encountered anything similar?
Cheers,

If you configure the VMs interfaces' to use NAT you shall be able to connect via your host to the connected network. Try reconfiguring by running vmware-config.pl again. _________________ Hello 911? How are you? |

I marked the topic as 'solved' because I managed to get network connection up and running finally but I simply had to enter all network details (gateways, DNS, ip etc).
Cheers,
