Ok now I've x11vnc up and running on the server side. If I start it as root, I'm able to connect from a remote client (in the local area network) without any trouble using vncviewer 192.168...
If I start x11vnc, however, as a normal user on the server, I'm not able to connect to it from the client any more.

What can I do that my server /x11vnc allows connections via the network when run as normal user. I've got no firewall up, so this can't be it!
