I'm having an install problem. I started a thread already but I'm not really getting much of a response. I am getting a kernel panic on any emerge that needs to compile. I was wondering what steps portage took when handling an emerge. It seems to be going into a kernel panic from configure.
I wanted to know the steps portage goes through so I can try to pinpoint what program is causing the panic. _________________ Steve - Semper Fi

| Your best bet is probably to use strace to see the syscalls being made when you get the kernel panic. |

I don't have a way to get strace on my system at this point. I get a kernel panic when I build. _________________ Steve - Semper Fi

Those links helped a lot. Thank you very much. It turned out to be a bad autoconf from my tarball. Updated it and everything works great now. _________________ Steve - Semper Fi
