Hello, I am a noob in networking, and I would like to set a small home server with dyndns. I have registered to the site, and got my hostname which is myname.homelinux.org.
Now, at home I have a lan of 2 computers, sharing one adsl connection. The pc I use as a server, has the ip 10.0.0.3 . So, i have forwarded this ip for the port 80 in my routeer. Right?
I also have some directories in the localhost directory, let's say one of them is .../htdocs/bookstore/index.php
I want this to be seen out of the lan.
What should i further do?
My current ddclient.conf looks something like that:
Code:
daemon=36000
syslog=yes
mail-failure=root
ssl=yes
protocol=dyndns2
use=web
login=****
password=*******
myname.homelinux.org

Hitting http://myname.homelinux.org/ shows the configuration screen of the router.

Your router uses port 80 for its config screens and hence you can't get at your internal web server. Your options are:

1) Move your router's config to another port eg 81
2) Move your web content to another port.

If you can I'd go for 1)

DNS is only related to IP addresses and names and not ports which I think is the problem you have.

Cheers
Jon

Thnx for your reply. It seems that this problem occurs only when i try to connect from my lan. If I connect from through a proxy server, then I can connect to the page. So something must be wrong with my router?
