Hi,
I am setting up a Lenovo T61P and am having a bear of a time with X. Does anyone have a good xorg.conf file they'd be willing to share?

2 things.
What video chipset is in the T61p?
Which driver version are you using for that chipset? |

The lspci output didn't help, but according to thinkwiki.org, you have a Quadro FX 570M.
Does that VGA adapter even show up in lspci run as root?
What does your Xorg log say when you try and run X?
What video options do you have compiled into the kernel?
Look here for starters. |

I got a T61P here too. So the video card should be FX570.
You may refer to the gentoo nvidia guide for some infomations, including the kernel configuration.
So I wrote:
VIDEO_CARDS=nvidia
in /etc/make.conf
Then emerge xorg-x11, this will emerge the nvidia-drivers automatically.
Then you can run:
nvidia-xconfig
which generate a xorg.conf file automatically.
This works for my laptop during system reinstall, yesterday. Hope this may help _________________ Fluxbox, VIM, Firefox,
